Safety Tips for Kids Never play with matches or a lighter. Never touch a burning candle or leave one in a room by itself. Never play around a kitchen stove, fireplace, or heater. Never touch a pot or pan on a working stove. (This could contain grease and cause a grease fire.)

Fire Alert Every home needs a working fire alarm. Batteries need to be changed when we change the clocks in the Fall and Spring.
4
Have a Family Fire Safety Plan Map out the exits to your house. Have a place to meet with your family. Never go back in a burning house.
5
Putting out a Fire Homes need to be equipped with a fire extinguisher for small fires.
6
To Water or Not to Water Fires that are caused by Grease on a kitchen stove should not have water poured on them. Use a fire extinguisher or BAKING SODA. Keep Baking Soda handy in the Kitchen.
7
What if my house is on fire? Stay low to the floor. (Smoke rises) Feel the door before you open it to see if it is hot. If it is…use another route. Make plenty of noise to let the fire person know where you are so he/she can come find you.
