Strategic Plan 2013 - 2016 –For young people to be educated with 21 st Century computing skills and motivated into further study and/or careers in IT –Driving the school curriculum changes –Training teachers through the Teaching Network of Excellence –Running the Computer Science Teaching Scholarships scheme for DfE –Support the Computing at School (CAS) movement Bridging the gap between education, practice and research

Presentation to insert name here 10 What’s been happening… …in the past six months IMIS (Institute for Management Information Systems) has merged with BCS Funding for a new SFIA Level 3 qualification agreed New statutory curriculum for computing in England agreed Network of teaching excellence and scholarships established and funded Continual Professional Development recording tool PDP launched Cabinet Office Best Management Practice contract awarded to Capita (AXELOS) New professional development and digital literacy products First year of trading for BCS Learning and Development Institute cost savings (Member Groups not affected), Boards reduced from 5 to 4 Membership growing steadily External engagement improving in various sectors Web site improvements

Do we have an image problem, how can it be addressed? Are we providing the right services to this community, what more is needed? What can Branches contribute?
