Medieval and Renaissance Architecture

Medieval

This is the Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Hershey. It is a cruciform, it may be hard to see because the shot is not from above but you can still see the transepts, and when I was taking the shot I was standing in the nave. Transept

This is the Derry Presbyterian Church located by the Hershey mansion and the one room school house. The bell tower has crenellation. Crenellation

This is a house in my neighborhood, it is right off of Homestead Rd. This house is an example of half-timber construction.

The First stain glass window is the main window in the Saint Joan Of Arc Church. It depicts Joan Of Arc kneeling on the ground praying to Mary and the arch angel Gabriel, who are standing in heaven with dead French soldiers behind them.

The second stain glass is from the Hershey Mansion the Milton Hershey built for his wife Catherine. Unfortunately I could not get close enough to see what it depicted because a security guard was coming.

The “lighthouse” of Hershey is a prime example of what I believe to be the only building in Hershey that has arrow slits. The lighthouse used to be a centerpiece of the old Hershey pool which was closed before I was born.

Renaissance

This mosaic can be found inside the Hotel Hershey, right outside of the circular dining room.

This is a sculpted fountain that is in the main lobby of the Hotel Hershey. The Fountain features lions spitting water out of their mouths.

This is another picture of the Hershey Mansion built by Milton Hershey For his wife Catherine. On it you can see the wrought iron fence used on the balcony. Wrought Iron Fence

This is another part of the Hershey Mansion, in this part you can plainly see the terra cotta roof.

This is a circular window on the Derry Presbyterian Church in Hershey.

This is a coffered ceiling inside the Hotel Hershey by the check-in desk
