PP Step in to Learning for Numeracy Champions Learning objectives Delegates will be able to: identify parents/carers who may wish to take up the opportunity to brush up their numeracy skills identify the purposes of skills checking and assessment recognise and dismantle the barriers that make it difficult for parents/carers to discuss and take up opportunities to improve their numeracy skills recognise some ways of communicating effectively with parents/carers. 3.2

PP Step in to Learning for Numeracy Champions Diagnostic assessment... analyses strengths and areas for development is used as a basis for devising an individual learning plan provides more details of learners skills is administered by a qualified Skills for Life teacher. 3.5

PP Step in to Learning for Numeracy Champions Numeracy Champions can: talk with parents/carers about what they can do invite parents/carers to talk about the numeracy tasks they might like to brush up discuss the possibility of taking national qualifications in numeracy use a self-check tool to get the conversation going use a skills checking tool if trained to do so. 3.6
