I will write a thorough summary of chapter 14 by finding the main idea of each paragraph and using them as supporting details for the overall Big Idea.

Lesson: Read Chapter 14 out loud stop to analyze, ask a question, and summarize Pay attention to Miranda’s thoughts, feelings, and actions After completing the chapter, students will summarize the main event in a solid paragraph.

Writing a Summary STEP 1: First, read the chapter. STEP 2a: Find the main idea for each paragraph. STEP 2b: Take out any facts that are not needed. STEP 2c: Put all the details—in your own words—in one paragraph. STEP 3: Re-read your summary. STEP 4: Check your work. Make final changes.
