I will write a thorough summary of chapter 14 by finding the main idea of each paragraph and using them as supporting details for the overall Big Idea.

Writing a Summary  STEP 1: First, read the chapter.  STEP 2a: Find the main idea for each paragraph.  STEP 2b: Take out any facts that are not needed.  STEP 2c: Put all the details—in your own words—in one paragraph.  STEP 3: Re-read your summary.  STEP 4: Check your work. Make final changes.
