3 RNP’s Digital Video Working Group Objective: build a CDN that supports the capture, recovery, and transmission of video data from both live and delayed sources.

9 Content Publication Every object published must have an associated URL Supports batch publication (requires data file) For delayed transmission, a publisher can store the data on local disk, in IBP depots, or both

10 Data Management Plenty of space (lors_upload) Replication and replication threshold (lors_augment) exNode maintenance (lors_trim) Allocation maintenance (lors_refresh) GAINSOBSTACLES

11 Data Management More IBP depots in the RNP = more reliable service Bundled with D-VoDi deployments (open) Bundled with D-VoDf installations (restricted) L-Bone contributors in Brazil/S. America

12 Future Work Better use of Logistical Networking Develop relationship between replication and popularity/demand Apply current caching policies to IBP allocations Allow publishers to provide direct access to exNodes
