Organize yourselves into groups according to your practicum placement i.e. Core French together, JK/SK, gr 1 etc. Take a look at the curriculum for your program/grade. Does it make sense? Is this what was being taught? Now you’ve been in a classroom, is it possible to teach it? Thoughts?

Was each strand given equal importance? Was oral communication ‘front and center’? In your own teaching how easy was it to balance oral/reading and writing? What about media...?

Were you able to develop an instructional plan to facilitate learning for that student? Can you describe what you did and why? Was it effective? Was the running record a useful tool?
