3. Resume Guidelines  Use plain white or off-white paper  Use a plain font  Times, Times New Roman: up to 12 pt  Update your contact information  Phone numbers, address, and email address  Use a professional Email address  NEVER use false information  Always use proper language  Never use slang!  Identify yourself as a Spanish speaker (if you are)

4. Volunteer activities or organizations  Be sure to mention any of the following as your experience:  Extracurricular activities  Volunteer work  Community Service Hours  Clubs you are involved in  Sports, including cheerleading  Afterschool programs  Leadership roles (ASB, STL, Yearbook, etc)  Church programs and activities  Baby Sitting (both paid and unpaid experience)  Pennies for Patients fundraiser (if you participated)  Donating to COMA’s Hygiene basket event (if you participated)

5. Courses  List any coursework that relates to the potential job  For example, if applying to a banking job mention challenging math courses you have taken Sample Courses:  Spanish (or other language)  Any Honors or Advanced Placement classes  Leadership Classes (Yearbook, STL, ASB)  Electives (such as STEM and art classes)

6. Awards  Include the following:  Honor Roll Awards  Awards from teachers, etc  Recognitions from sports

7. Use Action Verbs  Use “action verbs” to describe yourself and your skills
