Strider is realistic fiction because it could, but it does not. Realistic means that it can happen.

In the story Leigh is the one telling the story. It is first person point of view, because Leigh is writing in his diary and telling it himself.

Best friends leigh and Barry find a dog that they later name Strider. They have to both take care of him. Since Barry is gone most of the time leigh has to do most of the work. Will leigh and Barry still be friends or will the work of the dog break their friendship. It is a great informational story that everybody should read.

 A couple of the main characters are leigh and Barry. Leigh is a kind and smart person. Barry is kind and likes to play football.  They both start to dislike each other and are not friends anymore.

 The main setting of the story is around the town where Leigh lives. It sometimes takes place around his friends houses and sometimes around his school.

 Vocation-a particular occupation, business, profession, or trade. When some one trades with someone else.  Smog-a combination of smoke and fog in the air. Clouds that are in the air.  Smear-cover or stain with any thing sticky, greasy, or dirty. Something that is sticky.  Align-bring into line, arrange in a straight line. Being in a straight line.  Suspense- condition of being uncertain. Something that is boring.  Whiz- a humming or hissing sound. Something that makes sounds with their mouth.  Consult- seek information or advice from. People finding information.  Custody- parents have their custody of their children. Parents take care of their children  Freshman-students in the first year of college or high school. Kids just started school.  Midst- surrounded by the same things. Kids surrounded by people.

 I researched dogs like Strider and found out that his breed is an Australian Dingo.  A dingo’s habitat ranges from deserts to grasslands and the edge of forests.  Dingo’s are carnivorous animals and have a very diverse diet ranging from water buffalo to insects. They are opportunist feeders and are known to hunt anything including fouls, wallabies, geese, lizards, kangaroos, hares and small rodents such as mice and rats.  Being a canine, the dingo has wolf-like characteristics. It is a carnivore that generally lives and hunts in packs. Dingoes adapt by growing thick coats in cooler regions, and thinner coats in warmer regions of Australia. Dingoes also have a sandy-ginger coat to blend in with their surroundings.

 My mom’s parents are divorced like Leigh’s parents. My mom is always sad when she talks about it and Leigh is to. Leigh and my mom are both not happy that there parents divorced. That is my Text-to-Self- Connection. Jackson  My mom and dad also divorced like Leigh's parents. Me and Leigh are both sad about it. My dad only comes once a year almost like Leigh's dad. That is my Text-to-Self- Connection. Stefan

Leigh found a stray dog and one of my dogs was found in the dumpster. He’s still alive. He sometimes has problems with his back were he can’t walk with his back legs. We have to take him to the vet in Athens when it happen. He is 7 years old.(48 in dog years) Its kind of like how Leigh found strider. That’s my Text-To-Self-Connection. Thomas Leigh got mad when he saw his bad grade, and when he got home he said mean things to Barry, so Barry got mad and said that he was not his best friend anymore. When I see my bad I get mad at myself because I don’t like bad grades. Sometimes I hit people in accidents. rommel
