© 2012 Ideal Analytics Limited. 2 SME - the growth engine of any economy The numerousness of small & medium individual firms catapult the economy with -  Number of employment and socially necessary work hours it generates.  Optimization of cost-benefit for individual firms through best marketing positioning.  Sharing of factor inputs and placing the products thereby minimizing risk and maximizing return within a space.  Networking with other firms through vertical and horizontal integration of resources and market.  Clustering makes the availability of resources and accessibility of factor input easy and ready.  Creating multi-linkage relationship with other clusters of service and industries.  Creating an immediate market node & good supply chain node.

© 2012 Ideal Analytics Limited. 3 SME - the cooperative asserts  The limitation of scale for individual firms is supplemented by the co-operative functioning of cluster.  The sense of camaraderie in sharing factor input and yet a co- operative competition posits more import to the development of the cluster as the yardstick of individual development.  The employment of the work-force is assured within the cluster.

© 2012 Ideal Analytics Limited. 4 SME - The SCB directs the CB metric  The outstanding feature of this industry is that the cost-benefit metric of individual companies is determined by the social-cost- benefit metric of the cluster, unlike other industries.  The market parameters are willingly shared in the proportion of the contribution of individual firms.

© 2012 Ideal Analytics Limited. 5 SME - The interested agents  Besides the individual firms the agents that are interested in the development of an SME cluster -  Bankers and investors who see the cluster as one unit  Wholesalers & retailers who come to the cluster to buy  Vendors who supply factor input, labour etc. again see the cluster as one unit  All of them come to the cluster and the cost of transportation is reduced due to nodes and warehouses – the proximity factor becomes a commodity and parameter as well.

© 2012 Ideal Analytics Limited. 6 SME - Technology and resources can be shared  Use of technology, tools, resources even labour, service artefacts all can be shared by the individual firms in the cluster.  Time sharing of tools help reduce the need of capital investment as can be substituted by marginal variable cost supported by the operational cost.  All ancillary cost can therefore be shared.

© 2012 Ideal Analytics Limited. 7 SME - opportunity of cloud implementation  Software tools, applications can be implemented centrally in “cloud” and the data and results can be owned with full security without owning the entire application but paying for a license fees and data access mechanism.  All complexities can be put on to technology implementer one-time and later use them on-demand, on-need without sacrificing security and authenticity and currency of data
