Design Concept Features 3 distinct arc shaped steel framed structures interlinked by corridors which will also have a steel core. The whole structure is encased by glass as can be seen in the image below. The basement will be constructed using reinforced concrete. Large basement segmented into a gym/leisure suit, student bar and disabled parking. Rear access from St Andrews road to basement and for disabled parking and deliveries.
3
Design Concept Cycle store to the right of the face of the buildings made up of timber and glass. The rear of the structures are to be cladded with timber as will be discussed later by Tim. Staircase Lift shaft Underground parking/ deliveries Cycle store
4
Basement design Pv panels placed in encasements on the roofs of the three structure. Underground tunnel linking the development to the main university site. The structure is going to be 8 stories high. The basement will be constructed using reinforced concrete. Mezzanine Underground tunnel/passage way Photovoltaic's Panels on all roofs
