One Word Choose one word to describe your experiences with Language.

Silent Graffiti We are answering: – Who are English Language Learners This is done in complete silence You may put anything you believe to be true, know for sure, have heard, stereotypes, positive, negative, etc. 2 people at a time go up to write on a board 2 more people follow until everyone has added to the board You may return at any time to add to the board

Map It Consider your language and cross- cultural encounters. Create a visual (“map”) of these encounters in your life. Be prepared to share.

Syllabus, etc. Syllabus emailed Monday evening-- read for next class Texts: questions? Will need for next Monday

Placement 2 hrs/week (preferably a block) K-12 setting Evening/adults

To Do Spend about 30 minutes (set a timer) on the internet searching for answers to these topics : All “terms” related to teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL, ELL, etc). Who are ESL/EFL/ESL teachers? Definitions of “Language”.
