Proverbs 1:8-9 – “Listen, my son to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.”

Deuteronomy 21: "If any man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or his mother, and when they chastise him, he will not even listen to them,

19 then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his home town. 20 And they shall say to the elders of his city, 'This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey us, he is a glutton and a drunkard.’

21 "Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death; so you shall remove the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear of it and fear.

Ephesians 6:3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

WHAT NOW? If you’re a child in your parent’s home, ask them ways in which you disobey Apologize and pray specifically for help in respecting these areas and choosing obedience If your parent or parents are still alive and you no longer live with them, make a list of how you can show them honor.

WHAT NOW? If your parents are no longer alive, in what ways can you still bring honor to the family name? If your parents need to be forgiven (alive or deceased), make a decision to forgive and to honor so that God will be glorified.
