STEPS TO MULTIPLY A MIXED NUMBER: Write a fraction for each mixed number Multiply the numerators Multiply the denominators Write the answer in simplest form EXAMPLE#5: To make a mixed number into a fraction, multiply the whole number by the denominator, then add the numerator—this is the new numerator, the denominator will remain the same.
