5. THE TRUTH ABOUT “FAITH AND WORKS” (Analysis of James 2:14-26). Faith without works is ``dead'' (vs.14-17). –Verse 14 --- Two questions raised: Of what profit (advantage, blessing) is there to a man who says he has faith and has no works? Can faith (``that'' faith) save him? –Verses 15-16 --- James demonstrates the principle that faith apart from works of obedience is profitless, vain, dead! –Verse 17 --- The application of verses 15 & 16: Returns to the thought of verse 14 --- ``What doth it profit...?'‘ “Even so” --- –A “dead faith” (void of works) will not save! –A “saving faith” is faith made alive by works of obedience to God's commands.

The Truth On Joining The Church Of Your Own Choice - IT IS OUR UNDERSTANDING… THAT THE CHOICE HAS ALREADY BEEN MADE BY GOD. –THAT DEMONINATIONS ARE NOT PLEASING TO GOD. –THAT DENOMINATIONS ARE THE WORKS OF MEN. –THAT DENOMINATIONS ARE SATANS DECEPTION TO APPEAL TO MAN’S NATURE OF BEING IN CONTROL. –THAT DENOMINATIONS CANNOT BE THE CHURCH OF THE NEW TESTAMENT.

PEOPLE HAVE VARIOUS IDEAS AS TO “HOW” THIS DRAWING TAKES PLACE. –SOME SAY: DRAWN BY AN “INNER CALL” - THIS OFTEN IS IDENTIFIED WITH A CERTAIN FEELING. DRAWN APART FROM ONE’S WILL - AN “IRRESISTIBLE CALL” –THIS IS OFTEN CONNECTED TO THE “INNER CALL.” –THIS “IRRESISTIBLE CALL” IS USUALLY THOUGHT TO BE GIVEN TO CERTAIN SPECIFIC INDIVIDUALS WHOM GOD CHOSE PERSONALLY BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN. –THE REMAINDER OF HUMANITY GOD CHOSE TO PASS OVER AND NOT TO CALL IN THIS MANNER. THEREFORE, THOSE TO WHOM THE “IRRESISTIBLE CALL” DOES NOT COME CANNOT BE SAVED.

10. The Truth On God’s Plan Of Salvation- WHAT DOES IT REALLY MEAN TO CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD? Not This: –Calling the name "Lord, Lord" (Mt. 7:21-23) –Praying the "Sinner's Prayer" (_?????_) But This: –Believing (Rom. 10:14) –Hearing and heeding the calling of God (Acts 2:21, 39; cf. 2 Th. 2:13-14; 1 Pet. 1:22-23) –Obedience to the will of the Lord (Luke. 6:46; 1 John 2:3-6) –Repentance and baptism (Acts 2:21, 36-41) –Baptism (Acts 22:16) –Trusting and depending upon God throughout one's life (Acts 9:14)

11. The Truth Of The Thief On the Cross – A ssuming they can be saved like the thief. While Jesus was alive on earth, He had the power to dispense of His Spiritual blessings any way He saw fit. –For example, Jesus often personally forgave sins. Mark 2:1-12 - The paralytic who was carried by four others and let down through the roof. Luke 7:36-50 - The woman who washed Jesus’ feet. Consider what Jesus said to the rich young ruler. Mark 10:17-22 –Jesus did not require the rich young ruler to be baptized, at least, not at this time. –Why don’t people want to be saved like the rich young ruler? –The point is that Jesus, during His personal ministry, granted God’s blessings to several individuals upon various conditions, and the thief was one of them. What Jesus did for the thief, and various others, has nothing to do with our salvation.

Investigate The Truth About “What If It Is Not Found In The Scriptures” It is not a good work - 2Tim. 3:16-17 It does not pertain to life and godliness - 2Pet. 1:3 It causes one to not have God – 2John 9 It is not authorized by Christ – Col. 3:17 It cannot be done by faith – 2Cor. 5:7; Rom. 10:17; 14:23 It is going beyond what is written - I Cor. 4:6

The Truth On The Sinners Prayer No One Was Ever Told To Say the Sinner’s Prayer To Be Saved Those on Pentecost --- “Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, ‘Men and brethren, what shall we do?” (Acts 2:37). –And Peter said, “Say the Sinner’s Prayer and you shall be saved from your sins and become a Christian.”??? –No, that’s not what he said. Why not? That is exactly what you will hear over and over again from so many preachers. Why can’t these denominational preachers simply give the answer Peter gave? “Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38). The reason so many denominational preachers can’t give people Peter’s answer is they don’t believe it!

Acts 1:8...power to come with the H.S. Acts 2:1-4.. Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost. AD.33. –The church began in Jerusalem.... People were added to the church for the first time on the day of Pentecost AD.33.....Acts 2:47. Thus the kingdom and the church came into effect in the same place. THE CHURCH AND THE KINGDOM WERE BOUGHT WITH THE SAME BLOOD. –The kingdom was bought with the blood of Christ...Rev. 5:9-10. –The church was bought with the blood of Christ... Acts 20:28. –Thus the church and the kingdom are the same institution.

16. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH THE TRUTH??? Rejected It? –The Jews In the N.T. Rejected Jesus! Refused To Obey It? –Jesus said “Why Do You Call Me Lord, Lord and Do Not the Things that I Say…” Scoffed At It and Mocked Those Who Hold To It? –Those Who Crucified The Savior Stood At the Cross And Did This Very Thing!
