3 3 Financial Clearance (cont’d) Financial clearance is achieved by: –Paying the term charges in full or –Making the minimum payment, thus enrolling in the Installment Payment Plan ($20 charge) or –Having sufficient financial aid to cover at least 25% of charges

4 4 Types of Financial Aid Scholarships Grants Loans (Subsidized, Unsubsidized, Parent PLUS) Student Employment (RSE, FWS).

12 12 Finding a campus job Use Student Job Finder on the internet Job Finder lists available campus jobs. You can access SJF once registered and financially cleared. Go to www.stuemp.siue.eduwww.stuemp.siue.edu Find a job in SJF, notify employer of your interest, interview for job. Minimum wage for most jobs - $6.50/hour Maximum 20 hours/week Direct deposit of checks

20 20 FERPA Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act FERPA gives parents certain rights with respect to their children's education records. These rights transfer to the student when he or she reaches the age of 18 or attends a school beyond the high school level. Students to whom the rights have transferred are "eligible students."
