What is the difference between AP and non-AP History courses? Academic/ Regular WH More direct instruction HW assigned regularly collected for a grade Course resembles traditional H.S. classes NO college credit NO end-of-year exam AP Teacher is facilitator HW assigned but not always collected Expected to always be done May be tested on material NOT specifically covered in class College-level text May receive college credit via AP Exam

Course Description – page 6 This is a survey of world history. It is organized into units that begin with pre-history and progress through the early 21 st century/ modern day. In studying history, students will learn the geography of the world’s regions. They will also begin to develop a cultural understanding through the social sciences of economics, political science, anthropology, and sociology. A special effort will be made to connect history to current issues and events. The goal is to enhance students’ awareness of the world and its complexity.
