LI: To be able to create timelines showing important dates/ events Starter: Complete the crossword using the information that you collected about the key explorers Note: there is a mistake – what is it?

2 Timelines Events set out in some sort of line in the order in which they happened. A timeline gives a date and a short description of an event. Dates can either be from a single year or fir a period of time.

5 Creating a timeline of Explorers
On the next slide is a list of explorers and their important dates. Using the conventions of creating timelines that we have just learnt, create a timeline showing important dates for the Age of Discovery.

7 AGE OF EXPLORATION Create an Acrostic poem using the words ‘Age of Exploration. Use words that are relevant to the topic of explorers.
