Prairie Dogs Prairie dogs are a kind of animal that like to be underground or alone and the scientific name for the prairie dogs is Cynomys ludovicianus.

Diet Prairie dogs are herbivore that means they eat leafs, and grass.

Habitat Prairie dogs live in grasslands and dig there homes underground.

Lifespan The lifespan of a prairie dog is about 1 to 5 years old.

Behavior The prairie dogs behavior to most things is to usually dive into there little holes and hide until the predator geos away.

Group Size The group size of a prairie dogs is tens of thousands of black-tailed prairie dogs in one colony.

Predators These are some of the predators that chase Prairie dogs Badgers, bobcats, coyotes, hawks, eagles, falcons, and snakes.

Fun Fact One fun fact about prairie dogs is if a prairie dog sees a threat, such as a coyote, it will give a special bark before diving into its burrow. The bark warns other prairie dogs of the danger.
