10. Historical Event 1: Independence Date: September 7th, 1822 -Drove out the Portuguese -Britain and Portugal recognized Brazilian independence by signing a treaty on August 29, 1825.

Event 3: Statue of Christ the Redeemer -The statue stands 39.6 metres (130 feet) tall, weighs 700 tons. -In 1889, the first proposal to build a statue was rejected by the Princess Isabel because when Brazil became a Republic, the laws were mandating to separate the church and state. - The symbolic statue began building in 1926 and finished in 1931.
