A federal law, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), was created to help protect kids online. It's designed to keep anyone from obtaining a child's personal information without a parent knowing about it and agreeing to it first.

Please notify a teacher immediately when you feel scared, uncomfortable, or unsure of a situation related to the internet. Possible Situations Possible Situations: Receive a random or unknown call, text or email message Unknown request for you to download a program Unknown communication stating you have money, prize or other type of bribe to open a link online Possible request verification of information for personal information

Please be respectful and courteous to students in regards to social media. i.e. (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Chat Rooms) Report any online harassment Save any digital online evidence Be aware of potential predators online
