Geologic Event Feb 20, 1943 Seismic activity took place for 2 weeks giving birth to a volcano now known as Paricutin Volcano in Mexico. Open for touring.

Geologic Influence A plain is an area of land with relatively high relief and is flat. Plains in many areas are important for agriculture, because where the soils were deposited as sediments they may be deep and fertile. The Agriculture is traded and sent to different countries.

Geologic Feature of El Salvador This picture is a picture of San Vicente volcano. It is a geologic feature specific to my country of ancestry. This one of the number of volcanoes that is found in El Salvador. It is 7,159 feet high. The last time it erupted is unknown.

Geologic Event Although I was too young to remember (2 years old or so), Me and My family have lived through the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. 72 deaths were recorded along with the 9000+ injured after the earthquake. This was in California near Los Angeles. This buildings damage was a result of the earthquake. It was a rare earthquake in the sense that it was located directly under an urban area in the U.S.A. The date was 01/17/94. It was a very costly at 20 billion dollars of damage.

Geologic Influence Landslides are an event that influence the location in which they are set. A landslide can be caused by erosion at the bottom of a slope, earthquakes, or lack of soil nutrients.

Geologic Feature of Des Plaines Des Plaines is a city in Cook County, Illinois. Founded in 1835 it has adopted its official nickname of "City of Destiny". Des Plaines is named after the Des Plaines River which passes through it.

Geologic Event This picture shows a car stuck in a huge pot whole in the ground. The whole was formed because of the flood from the Des Plaines River destroying the ground. Fire fighters have to help rescue the car and lift it out from the road.
11
Geologic Influence This is the result of the Des Plaines river flooding, the city streets are filled with water. The flood costs the city thousands and thousands of dollars due to damages. Floods are created all across the world and destroy towns and have killed many people. Flash floods are known to be more damaging than hurricanes and tsunamis combined and can carry debree through towns and cities.
12
Geologic Feature of Venezuela The Andes mountains go through Venezuela. And there are many mountains which limit people from going to other cities or parts of Venezuela.
13
Geologic Event Some mountains are flat topped and this happens from the erosion on the top of the mountain. On one mountain in Venezuela that is a flat top there is the world tallest waterfall.
