Recuerdos Has two pianist playing simultaneously to three musical pieces (Chôro, Paseo and Valse Venezolano). All three pieces shows the combination of different musical styles, predominately Latin and American. The combination is supposed to invoke emotion in the listener. Shows an intertwining of two things becoming one, or working harmoniously.

Paseo means walking in Spanish It is the second piece in William Bolcom’s Recuerdos (Reminiscences/ Memories) Explores the union of Latin and American music's of the 19th century by evoking the style of the first hugely successful American piano virtuoso/composer, New Orleans-born Louis Moreau Gottschalk (1829-1869). Gottschalk’s Creole (French/African) roots have a distinctly Latin flavor.
