Financial center — a place that there are many banks and some financial institutions Stock market — a place where company shares are bought and sold Stock exchange — to make money on the stock market, also called “ bourses ”

Broker — a person who buys and sells things, for example, shares in a business, also called “ stock broker ” Dealer — a person whose business is buying and selling a particular product Trader — a person who buys and sells things as a job

Speculator — a person who buys and sells goods or shares in a company in the hope of making a profit Foreign exchange — the system of exchanging the money of one country for that of another country, a place where money is exchanged, also called “ forex ” Commercial paper — short-term lending to business

Bond — an agreement by a government or a company to pay you interest on the money you have lent Gross margin — difference between the selling price of a product and the cost of producing it Pre-tax profits — the money a business makes before payment to the government

Interest rate — the percentage of a sum of money charged for its use Trading – the process of buying, selling, or exchanging goods, within a county or between countries Demand – the ability and willingness of people to pay for them

Turnover – the rate at which a particular kind of article is sold Bullish – tending to cause, or hopeful of rising prices Overdraft — a draft in excess of the credit balance Mortgage — a conditional conveyance of property as security for the repayment of a loan

Barrier – prevent or control their movement Bearish – expecting, or tending to cause falling prices Blue chips – an industrial share that is expensive and in which people have confidence
