1. Stem cells: disease models and therapeutics
Want to talk about Brain Reconstruction, and whether it is either possible or desirable.
Two contexts:
the unmet medical need associated with Brain Damage.
Enhancement. There is an assumption in much of the literature associated with Human Enhancement that it is possible to take damaged brains and not only restore them, but to make them better. This is seen as a goal, by many such as John Harris, or as an ethical problem associated with regenerative therapies in the brain, such as Duggan et al.
Whether such enhancement is a goal or a problem, the question I want to address is: is it achievable, and is it necessary?
