Body Mechanics Failure failure to use proper mechanics will cause back problems: Acute strains and sprains Disc herniation (bulge) Fatigue back pain is difficult to treat and likely to recur exercise and a healthy diet are also important to avoid back injury

Guidelines for proper lifting Hinge at the hips and bend the knees – do not bend your back place the object close to the body Position your feet shoulder- width apart Keep your chin up and look straight ahead
