When God looks over the sea of humanity…

what does he see? Does he get lost in the counting of hairs? Who does he recognize? Does he forget/ overlook others?

World population At the time of Christ the world population was 138 mm It took approx. 1,000 yrs to double. By the 1990’s it took only 41 yrs to double. Today, it is estimated it will only take 14 yrs. to double.

Joel forsaw this day and said... 14Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. Joel 3:14

David chose to follow a different crowd... Ps 42:4 4When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday. (KJV)

Why did David make this choice? He had learned from experience the dangers of wrong friendships, wrong relationships. The Phillistines Abigail’s husband Michal, Saul’s daughter His own violations of God’s law

He learned … that God recognises only 3 kinds of people. No, not racial classification of humanity. (3 race theory- {early Egypt,Greek,Roman theory} Causcasoid, Negroid, Mongoloid)

He realized that there are only… Ungodly Sinners Righteous people.

Psalms 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. (KJV)

The Ungodly… by definition- those who know not God. They are those who are unaware of God. Their heaven/ hell is the here and now. When they die, they simply die and vanish.

Some scriptures for clarification Ps 73 Ps 49 Ps 37:18-20 Ps 68:1,2 Isa 51:6,15,16 Hos 13:1-3 Isa 26:14 Ps 146:3,4 Ps 10:4,5

The Sinner… Is a Christian. Who is “missing the mark” Has a working knowledge of the bible and its laws. But is either coming short of living up to that knowledge by error or on purpose. “Knows to do good, but does it not”. James 4:17

Some scriptures for clarification… Heb 10:38 Jude Rom 1:21,28,32 Warning! Isa 33:14 Pr 1:10-17 Pr 23:17,18 Ps 51 James 5:19,20 Isa 1:27-31 Rev20:14,15 remaining unchanged… lake of fire. Pr 8:32-36

The comfort we have is… 6For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 5:6-8

There is hope… Rom 7:18-20 18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. (KJV)

By acknowledging our sins... Rom 7:24-25 24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. (KJV)

God wants to help us.. But we must give an effort too! Hosea 10:12 12Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: (KJV)

The Righteous… are doing “Alright” they understand what is required of them and they do it. There are 2 kinds of righteousness. 1) the law 2) faith - we want faith righteousness.

Some scriptures to illustrate righteousness by faith… Mt 5:20 Gal 3:6 Gal 5:5 Lu 5:32 1 John2:29 Mal3:18 Ps 11:5 Pr12:5 1Pe 4:17,18 Jas 5:16 2Pe 2:21 Heb 12:23 1Pe 5:10 2Tim 4:6-8

end of this study.
