THE STUDY OF END TIMES
3
What happens to us when we die? IN DEATH BODY AND SOUL ARE SEPARATED. THE BODY DECAYS, WHILE THE SOUL GOES TO MEET GOD AND WAITS TO BE REUNITED WITH ITS RISEN BODY ON THE LAST DAY
4
IN VIEW OF JESUS’ SUFFERING AND DEATH, DEATH ITSELF CAN BECOME EASIER. WE MUST TRUST IN GOD AS JESUS DID AND UNITE OURSELVES WITH CHRIST’S SUFFERING ON THE CROSS. IF WE DIE IN UNION WITH GOD AND AT PEACE WITH ALL WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO COMMUNION WITH THE RISEN CHRIST
5
ETERNAL LIFE BEGINS WITH BAPTISM AND CONTINUES THROUGH DEATH AND WILL HAVE NO END.
6
OCCURS AT THE MOMENT OF DEATH YOU CAN NO LONGER REPRESS OR CONCEAL ANYTHING NOTHING MORE CAN BE CHANGED GOD SEES US AS WE ARE WE MUST BE “RIGHT” WITH HIM IF SO WE WILL JOIN HIM IN HEAVEN OR …MAYBE STILL BE IN NEED OF PURIFICATION OR MAYBE WE TURN FROM GOD
7
HEAVEN IS ENDLESS LOVE NOTHING MORE CAN SEPARATE US FROM GOD WHOM WE LOVE AND HAVE SOUGHT OUR WHOLE LIFE. TO SEE GOD FACE TO FACE
8
NOT A PLACE BUT A CONDITION SOMEONE WHO DIES IN GOD’S GRACE BUT WHO STILL NEEDS PURIFICATION PROBABLY AWAITS MOST OF US IT IS EXPERIENCING BURINING SHAME AND PAINFUL REMORSE OVER OUR FAILURES TO LOVE
9
WE CAN HELP THE SOULS IN PURGATORY BY PRAYING FOR THEM, BY RECEIVING THE EUCHARIST AND DOING GOOD WORKS. THE PERSON WHO HAS DIED NO LONGER CAN DO ANYTHING FOR HIMSELF
10
HELL IS THE CONDITION OF EVERLASTING SEPARATION FROM GOD, THE ABSOLUTE ABSENCE OF LOVE. SOMEONE WHO WITH FULL CONSENT DIES IN SERIOUS SIN WITHOUT REPENTING AND REFUSES GOD’S MERCIFUL FORGIVING LOVE EXCLUDES HIMSELF FROM UNION WITH GOD AND THE SAINTS OUR FREE WILL ALLOWS THIS TO BE POSSIBLE
11
TAKES PLACE AT THE END OF THE WORLD AT THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST THOSE WHO HAVE DONE GOOD TO THE RESURRECTION OF LIFE THOSE WHO HAVE DONE EVIL TO THE RESURRECTION OF FINAL JUDGEMENT
