2. 1948 in Japan the UNESCO Clubs were founded. A Club UNESCO is an association which promotes the Peace ideals and improves people of different countries In 1979 some Italian clubs put togheter to found the Italian Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Centers

3. In 1983, in Reggio is established the new Club UNESCO made official in 1985 The first site is an unsmiling circular hall of the old Aragonese Castle that becomes a cultural centre in the city

4. Horse-terapy, pictures show, musical and poetic exhibitions. The Club becomes culturally and artistically important in front of the Citizen, and a succession of peace initiatives to renovate the castle (with human chains) begins

5. In 1995 the 16° national meeting of UNESCO Clubs and Centers takes place in Reggio The Clubs supports the introduction, in UNESCO World Heritage, of Gerace, an ancient town with a medieval centre

6. The Club coordinates a group of initiatives to improve different cultures which take place in our city. Art, crafts, music, theatre, dance, songs, cookery of foreign people who live in Reggio are showing to citizen. The biggest manifestation is by Romania

7. 2000 Important Peace Manifestations with other Associations of our city 2001 “Comitato per la Pace” (Peace Presidium) is born It’s a cooperation of 30 cultural, environmental or pacifist associations, which operate in our area

8. In 2002 the Club presents a Photo Book about landscapes of the Aspromonte (the mountains of south Calabria) published with the patronage of the National Park of Aspromonte

9. Summer 2000: a delegation of Club visit EXPO 2000 in Hannover, GERMANY

10. Summer 2005: delegation of young of Club in learning languages project realized by Reggio’s Municipality in MALTA

11. in May 2005 Club joins the “Middle East Peace Initiative” in ISRAEL and PALESTINE

12. March 2007: the Club takes part a meeting about music in Trabzon, TURKEY

13. In Summer 2007 the president of Reggio’s Club is in Seul, South KOREA guest of the Peace Universal Federation

14. Conference and peace march with the participation of Lama Geshe Lobsang Sherab La June 2008

15. 2008 Camps and cultural visits in Calabria

16. July 2009: the Club is again in Trabzon and Black Sea, TURKEY

17. In 2001 and 2006 in cooperation with environmental association Kronos of Reggio and the National Park of Aspromonte the Club organizes some trips in mountain, joined, by foreign people, artists and others.
