4-H Hosting Opportunities!

Every summer, 50 Japanese and Korean youth spend a month living with Wisconsin host families.

This year you can host, too!

Why host? Establish relationships Meet people from Japan and Korea Understand their culture, and yours!

When is the exchange? One Month July 25 – August 22, 2009

What do you do? Everything! 4-H activities play baseball Help on the farm Have water fights Go fishing Cook together Go swimming Celebrate birthdays HAVE FUN

Requirements Interest in other cultures Host sibling between 10-18 years old Provide room and board (can share a room, but need their own bed) Participation in WI 4-H Youth Protection program for those in home 18 +

Requirements Include in family activities Be flexible, patient, and willing to communicate Attend orientation by telephone May 27, 2010 Meet in Madison or Wausau/ Eau Claire area July 25, 2010

Do delegates speak English? FAQ’s Yes - some more than others One of their goals is to learn more English

FAQ’s How are students placed? Same gender, age and interests as host sibling

FAQ’s When are applications due? February 15 th or until all students are placed
