Except during Ramadhan.
A Parade takes place every morning Except during Ramadhan. The Parade starts at 7:25. Teachers must be at the parade ground 7:25 to greet their tutor group. Tutor to ensure that students line-up in an orderly fashion and are quite. Parade lasts 8 mins. At the end of the parade teachers guide the students to the tutor room.

Behavior that spoils a lesson
Not being prepared. Not having clear learning aims. No variety in activities. Talk at the students.

Improving Discipline What we need in place
An appropriate curriculum. Students having clear goals.(short term & long term. ) Clear learning aims for the lesson/term Good quality Teacher and learning. Variety of actively during the lesson/term Promote discussion. Good use of IT/resources to promote learning.

CODE OF CONDUCT IN THE CLASS
Rule 1 Be seated in your place before the teacher arrives. “Be Silent” and be prepared for the lesson. (Bring equipment & books ) Rule 2 Never walk around the classroom during the lesson. Rule 3 When answering a question always put up your hand, Never speak unless the teacher asks you to. Rules 4 Do not speak to others during the lesson, Do not turn around. Rule 5 Keep your hands and feet to yourself. Don’t touch others or anything that does not belong to you. Rule 6 Respect your teacher; follow your teacher’s instruction on the first request, never interrupt your teacher or raise your voice. Rule 7 Be respectful to each other. Rule 8 Absolutely no eating or drinking in class. No chewing gum or seeds. Rule 9 Take care of your room and keep it clean.

Consistent and persistent Team Work.
Every one must be :- Consistent and persistent Team Work. Are we as a school consistent and persistent when dealing with behavoiur issues.

Role of Form-Tutor Complete the daily register sheet.
Disseminate school information to the tutor group. (Deliver the pastor program.) Liaise with YGT (Deputy Head of School…re-pupils causing concern). Detentions are a last option. Any other reasonable duty. Role of YGT Year Group tutor

Room Security At the end of the lesson it is teacher’s responsibility to ensure the students leave and make sure that the door is lock and students are guided off the landing.

Keep your school tidy. Students to Clean your classrooms before the start of break and at the end of the last lesson. At the end of breaks and at the end of the day Leave with the chairs& tables orderly arranged Look after your classrooms. Think of it as your home.

Dealing with student Lateness
To School (first lesson ) Only accept into class with a signed slip. Lateness to lesson Lateness & from break The Lateness must be recorded in the daily report (mins) On the second time of lateness during a given week its an automatic school detention Remember no one leaves your classroom during a lesson without a note. Only allow one person out at a time.

Dealing with Misbehavior
Try to deal with yourself in the first instance for example :- A positive talk to the student, Give warnings, detention at break, Record on daily record sheet get Hamood/Galal/Summer/fozia to phone home If misbehavior continuous report it to DHOS, YGT or tutors or directly to the deputy head of school if immediate action is required But on report Do contact parents, get them in make a request. School detention

continuation IT is everyone's responsibility to address poor behaviour in class and around the school. Challenge students lingering around the school, chewing screaming……. Mobiles are not allowed. Use your discretion. If they get out a mobile or it rings confiscate it and pass it on to the office

Galal & fozia upper secondary Its their job to support you with discipline issues with lower secondary (Teacher Nisar, Hamoud, Rena) Heads of Department. (Abdul-Karim Grd-12 & 11) Sultana (HOS ) ( if serious ) Principal final port of call Note for teachers: Don’t forget to fill IRF Form (Incident Report Form) and carry out any necessary follow ups. 18

Who to see if you want letters to be written to parent
Student affairs “Summer and Summah” Fozia- Secretary based in Secondary office. Sultana - HOS Only in emergencies – Susan, Principal’s Secretary. Mazin – English Teacher. Note no letter must leave the school unless sultana has checked it and as a copy. You are welcome to phone parent but get advice.

School Detention To support you a school detention will run from 2:20-3:15pm every day Names received will be normally be put on detention the following day There is a detention book at admin office, please check. School detention is the final step once you have exhausted your strategies. Note: Run your own detention but make sure that the guard at gate and Head of Secondary knows about it.

Teachers to complete incident report form For incidents that are more serious , that occur out of class. Repeated incidents Information kept in HOSch office Reported to the deputy head of secondary ( Mr Hamood/Mr Galal )
