What is AASHE? Association of colleges & universities working to create a sustainable future. Nearly 900 institutional members. Participants from every sector of campus. Professional home for campus sustainability officers. Mission: Empower higher education to lead the sustainability transformation Enable institutions to model sustainability in all their operations, including governance, education, research, engagement.

How AASHE Defines Sustainability Inclusive, encompassing human and ecological health, social justice, secure livelihoods, and a better world for all generations Three spheres - not just about the "environment." AASHE's Vision AASHE envisions a prosperous, equitable, and ecologically healthy world. In such a world, higher education plays a vital role in ensuring that people have: an understanding of the inter- dependencies between environmental, social, and economic forces; and the skills and abilities to meet sustainability challenges

AASHE's Structure Non-profit organization - 501(c)(3) Board of Directors - 11-17 members from across U.S., including business leaders, academics, administrators and students Staff – approx 25 in 10 states (offices in Lexington, KY and Denver, CO) Advisory Council – 50-60 members Senior Council – 10-15 members Members are non-voting 10/23/2015
