* My Mom’s Grandpa grew up in England, and arrived in America with his brothers and parents, so that he and his brothers would have a better future. This country is important to me because it is where my family came from, and this heritage makes me who I am today.

* My Great Grandfather was born in England, and my family is not sure about the time period in which he was born.

* England is the largest country in the UK * It shares a border with two countries, Scotland and Wales * It has hills, eroded areas, and a large area of coastline * Its is located near the English Channel * Located in Europe

* In England the weather is…. * Rainy * Windy * Coldest month is February * Warmest months are July and August

* Some very common English dishes are…. * roast beef, roast chicken, pork chops and lamb chops, Yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots, gravy, ketchup. * Other common dishes are Yorkshire Pudding, and of course, tea and biscuits! Yorkshire Pudding

* One holiday that is unique to England is National Day. National day is on April 23(Saint George Day) People celebrating in Lupton, England

* In England, they play many sports that are similar to ones that we play in America, however, there are some sports that are unique to England. For example… * Boxing Day Hunts * Darts * Martial Arts * Boxing * Angling * Polo * Badminton * Net Ball * Rugby Polo Rugby

* The culture of England is very similar to our own with a few minor differences such as… * Royal Family/ Country is ruled by the Queen * Tea Time * Etiquette is slightly different then in America because in England, they are much more formal and not as affectionate.

* The language that is spoken in England is English, however it is a slightly different dialect and accent that you commonly hear spoken in America. However, there is also some Scottish and Celtic(Wales) spoken on the out skirts of England as well. English Alphabet Scottish Alphabet
