Transport Policies What are we doing ? Lack of maritime ambition in the EC proposals to meet EU commitments on carbon emissions. CPMR offers to assist the European Commission in developing a new EU instrument to support Short Sea

TEN-T/CEF and neighbourhood The CPMR notes the limits regarding the intervention of the CEF outside the EU. Consistent with its high expectations vis-à-vis the EU’s policy towards its neighbours, it should mobilize for a better consideration of neighbouring, pre-accession and candidate countries in EU transport infrastructure policy.

VASCO DA GAMA for boosting the maritime economy (“blue growth”) Boosting blue growth cannot be done without investing in jobs In 2010 in Aberdeen, the CPMR launched Vasco da Gama, an umbrella initiative contributing to this objective European regions usually have significant powers in the fields of education and training.

2 – Preparing responses to EU calls for projects (now) Leonardo multilateral network : proposal prepared in January 2013, currently under evaluation. “Vasco da Gama -Training and Employment in Ports”, gathering 13 partners from 6 Regions from 5 different EU Member States and from various European sea basins (Atlantic, Channel, Baltic, Mediterranean). DG Move call for proposals with a view to introducing mobility in the field of maritime transport : CPMR response currently being finalized, named “Vasco da Gama: Training for greener and safer maritime transport”
