4 GoalsGoals 1. Increase 1-year Renewals by 5% from 126,000 to 132,300 ( an increase of 6,300); 2. Increase Multi-year Renewals by 5% from 45,000 to 47,250 (an increase of 2,250); 3. Increase AFE Renewals by 10% from 24,000 to 26,400 (increase of 2,400);

6 STRATEGIES & TACTICS TO ACCOMPLISH GOALS INCLUDE:

7 #1. Increase 1-year Renewals by 5% from 126,000 to 132,300 ( an increase of 6,300) BETTER ENGAGE MEMBERS DURING THEIR 1 ST YEAR: National to communicate with the new member with greater emphasis: Send 60 –day post join “how are we doing” email or telephone inquiry to newly joined members Send F-100 in the first half year of membership by email or postal Federation to communicate with the new member with greater emphasis: Send Welcome letter from federation membership chairs, and send Federation Newsletters Recognize new members at conventions Chapter to communicate with the new member with greater emphasis : Send Welcome Aboard Letter/Package from chapter, mention new members in chapter newsletters, at meetings, on web sites, etc.

8 REVAMP MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL PROCESS AT NATIONAL: Make National Membership Database accessible to Federations & Chapters Create “best practices” page on website Create Google Site for Membership Chair Communications HQ to Host Webinars with Federation & Chapter Leaders on Retention and Renewal techniques

9 STRENGTHEN RENEWAL EFFORTS AT BOTH FEDERATION & CHAPTER LEVELS: Make sure we have membership chairs at all local levels Institute “Chapter Reward” Program for highest retention totals achieved Appoint separate Federation/Chapter Retention Chairs HQ to create training session guide on retention and renewals at National, Federation & Chapter meetings Offer Matching Funds Program

Increase Multi-year Renewals by 5% from 45,000 to 47,250 (an increase of 2,250) Emphasis Multi-Year membership option on all renewal efforts Offer discounts and incentives to increase renewal totals Establish a dues rate matching that for dues withholding for any member who signs up for automatic credit or debit card renewal.

Increase AFE Renewals by 10% from 24,000 to 26,400 (an increase of 2,400) Offer alternative e-NARFE Chapter (done) Establish at least 1 AFE Chapter in each region Offer more information including articles, testimonials, etc. relating to AFE’s in magazine and brochures’ and website Offer more Incentives: A one-time 10% incentive for first year AFE renewals. A dues rate matching that of dues withholding to AFE’s who sign up for automatic credit or debit card renewal.

12 #4. Increase Current Usage of Dues Withholding Option by 10% Create model program based on existing CO, GA, TX, and WA programs. Direction needs to come from National & Federations; need to implement it with their chapters Pre-Populate member information on DW-2 Enrollment Forms for those eligible Offer a rebate to sign-up for dues withholding program Promote Dues Withholding Program and Application on Web Site

13 #5. Reinstate 3-5% of Lapsed Members from last 12-18 months Launch a national office lead “Lapsed Member Reinstatement” Program Offer special “come home” reduced dues amount Test reinstating 18-24 month lapsed members, and further back depending on program results
