11. 10 The boardwalks along the edges of the Love River are a great place for taking romantic walks. From Kaohsiung you can take a boat to the Penghu Islands, which lie between Taiwan and China. In the past, Kaohsiung was not considered a good destination for tourists, but over the last few years it has improved a lot. In 2001, nine artists were invited to work on lighted decorations for the Urban Spotlight Arcade.
