2.1 Students will be able to discuss how population is distributed throughout the world.

4- I can do all of three AND extrapolate major problems that may arise because of population distribution. 3- I can discuss where the major population concentrations are found as well as the non-ecumene lands AND the three types of density.

2.2 Students will understand the importance of demographics and the role they play in the world.

4- I can do all of 3 AND discuss how the impact of demographics on MDCs and LDCs. 3- I can discuss the major demographics and how their importance on a country.

2- I can define the important demographic information. 1- I know that a country’s population can increase or decrease.

2.3 Students will understand the Demographic Transition Model

4- I can do all of three AND discuss the impact of each stage on countries today and in the future. 3- I can explain all FOUR stages of the demographic transition model and how countries move from stage to stage and assign population pyramids for each stage.

2- I can tell what the CBR, CDR and NIR are doing in each stage, but I cannot explain how a country moves from stage to stage. 1- I know the definition of CBR, CDR and NIR.

2.4 Students will be able to discuss the issues with population growth.

4- I can do all of three AND can create a possible solution for the problems. 3- I can discuss the issues of Malthus and his critics AND various ways to slow population growth.

2- I can describe Malthus’ problems with population growth and at least one way population growth is slowing. 1- I know that population growth creates issues for countries.
