Christopher Columbus’ Exploration (Continued)
Many times the sailors told Christopher Columbus to turn around because they were frightened but Christopher Columbus told them “Adelante” which means sail on! He landed October 12,1492 in an island southeast of Florida and called it San Salvador. See Map on Slide 5 for Christopher Columbus’ Route. He believe his ships had reach the Indies, so he named the native Indians. In March 1493 he sailed back to Spain and the King and Queen named him Admiral of the sea.
