Working to reduce barriers to care including lack of insurance. Systematic interventions

Franklin County Outreach and Enrollment Committee
Latino and African Summits Press Conferences Coordinated Enrollment Events, information sharing from various organizations.

Targeted Enrollment In Columbus, we’ve seen less enrollment in the Latino and African Populations Planned targeted enrollment activities in the community: -Somalian Community Association and Local church with - Looking at parts of city with highest Latino population.

Insurance Enrollment Site
Started site here at CPH, Navigators and Certified Application Counselors to assist with the Marketplace. Job and Family Service case worker on site for Medicaid. Resource for staff and consumers. Doing our part give consumers opportunity to get help, being a regular trusted community site.

Development of Insurance Enrollment Site
Internally- advertisement in the building ( video signage, banners, segment on website, announcements, flyers for clinics) Staff Education- meeting with staff to educate on Marketplace and Medicaid.

Up and Coming Partnerships
Ohio Association of Foodbanks to also be present at some outreach clinics especially in underserved neighborhoods.

Mass Mailing Working with Environmental Health Team to spread word to restaurants and their employees on insurance enrollments.

Summary Holding summits to help pull specific community leaders in and getting their insight/ buy-in on certain populations. Ensure Health Department Staff are educated on the Marketplace and Medicaid- have refresher sessions and handouts for customers. Consider having an enrollment site at the health department.
