2 Main economic and social indicators of Lithuania 2013  In 2013, in Lithuania lived 2 million 972 thousands inhabitants. Lithuanian population accounted for only 0.6 percent of the total EU population and during the decade fell by 13 percent.  During the last decade Lithuanian population age structure has changed. In 2004, the elderly people accounted for 15 percent of the population in 2013 - 18 percent.  In 2013 gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to EUR 34600 million at current prices. Against 2012, the GDP change, seasonally and working day adjusted, stood at 3.4 per cent.  Gross domestic product per capita amounted to EUR 11696,6.

3  In 2013, the unemployment rate stood at 11.8 per cent which was by 1.6 percentage points less than in 2012.  The long-term unemployment rate stood at 5.2 per cent and was by 1.5 percentage points lower than in 2012.  In 2013, against 2012, the youth (aged 15–24) unemployment rate dropped by 4.8 percentage points and stood at 21.9 per cent. 4  average monthly gross (pre-tax) earnings in the whole economy, including individual enterprises, grew by 5 per cent and totalled EUR 646. Average monthly net (after-tax) earnings totalled EUR 501.  The highest gross earnings were recorded in financial and insurance – about EUR 1216, the lowest – in accommodation and food service – about EUR 391.  A quarter of all the persons employed earned EUR 318 and less, the other quarter received earnings ranging from EUR 318 to 474, yet another quarter – from EUR 474 to 756, the rest – more than EUR 756.

7 ESF project “The development of social dialogue between health care employers and trade union members“ Duration: March, 2012 – August, 2013 Participants: employers and employees of 11 Health Care Institutions The main activities : Training employees and employers on employment issues involving labor law, occupational safety, collective agreements and health care finance, management training including team development and personal responsibility-taking, communication and public speaking, stakeholder negotiation, conflict management establishing of Safety and Health Committees and the bilateral commissions exchanging of best practices in social dialogue - visit to Latvia

8 ESF project “The development of social dialogue between health care employers and trade union members“ In the end of the project there were achieved the following results: trained 1050 health care workers concluded nine collective agreements established three bilateral commission set up 4 Safety and Health committees
