2 LIVING FAITH LUTHERAN PRIMARY SCHOOL

3 Located at Murrumba Downs and opened in 2001. Enrolment of 400 students. Built on site as Living Faith Lutheran Church-venue for worship and aim to continue close working relationship School prides itself in being a caring community and providing a sound education with a Christian emphasis. There is a strong sense of community.

4 Caters for children from Prep to Year 6. Students come from a variety of religious backgrounds. Partner school with Grace Lutheran College. Growing school community. Building on going. Triple streaming began 2009 (third class commencing this year)

11 Identifying Values School community wanted to see continued and developed in the future of a growing school community Values Forum /Triple Streaming- identified values maintain + Student workshops- focused discussions, random surveys. Aim- identify issues, what students enjoy about school, identify key words to help create values Introduced values start of 2009 Term One - Assembly Create statements- staff input, phrasing Art –collect drawings to represent values (students)

Class sharing (term 3) Community Newsletter- websites, readings, follow up activities for families, related bible verse Notice board People sharing from school community- how they show school values, Staff Classroom follow up-activities, explicit teaching, devotions Staff support- handout (websites, activity/teaching activities, hand outs, resource list, professional readings) Playground duty bags- prompt cards

16 TEAMWORK in STUDENTS, STAFF AND PARENTS…….. Cooperating and being friendly towards others in the school community. Enthusiastically taking part in team activities – helping out at fundraising events, in the classrooms and volunteering at the Tuckshop Helping others with their work and problems Including everyone and making new families feel welcome Encouraging each other and not putting people down Supporting each other by sharing and caring for everyone in our school community

39 VALUES PROJECT Year Level Values Project- To create a values focused resource or visual display, environmental model/art piece (mural, sculpture, teaching/ student resource) Designed /created by students with classroom teachers/ parents Students designs /resources will be shared at Celebration Breakfast –Living Faith “Live” SHARING with community LIVING FAITHS VALUES Celebration Breakfast (end of Term 3)-community sharing, business connections
