Mainly eat fish but they also like : frogs, crayfish, clams and snails Are part of the mustelidae group, family members include: Sea otters, weasels, skunks and badgers.

10. Wildlife continued The river has a home for: 183 different species of plant, which is the highest in Britain Largest colony of nesting sand martins And the otters are increasing!

11. Nesting Sand Martin Sand martins nest in small holes inside the dry part of a river bank

12. Erosion The sediment from the bank-side erosion has a negative effect on the wildlife. Ten of the rivers in the Eden catchment have over 15% of their length with severe erosion caused by livestock (identified from analysing aerial images). The Rivers trust, tackles bank-side erosion with fencing project.
