Specifically, this research explores the implications of the phenomenon of Web 2.0 engagement, and illustrates the different behaviors of students interactions that altering their social identities, styles of learning, and exchanges with others around the world. It raises questions for school education and presents an argument for studying using these medium of technologies and its online cultures.

Virtual ethnography is the process of conducting and constructing an ethnography using the virtual, online environment as the site of the research. We cannot predict the influence of new technologies on students behavior in 5 years’ time. Facebook may corrupt school learning, promoting an anarchy that may be inimical to school as a center of knowledge exchange. Or Facebook might be transformed, tamed, and safe for education.
