Find the volume of the cylinder. SOLUTION The radius is one half the diameter, so r = 3 cm. V = Bh Write formula for volume. = πr2h Write formula for volume of a cylinder. = π(3)2(9) Substitute 3 for r and 9 for h. = 81π Simplify. ≈ Evaluate using a calculator.
