ADHD can lead to problems with: Organization Becoming Easily Frustrated Social Interactions This can affect a child’s ability to learn and perform in the classroom. Reference: NCLD Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

LD is a broad category that covers problems in all aspects of education. The causes of LD are unknown. While ADHD is not the same as having a learning disability, approximately 1/3 of people with learning disabilities also have ADHD. Reference: NCLD ADHD vs LD

If a parent or teacher suspects a child may have ADHD, evaluations can be preformed to see if the child has ADHD and requires special education services. Each state has a Parent Training and Information Center and a Protection and Advocacy Agency that will help children get their evaluations. Reference : NIMH Diagnosing ADHD

ADHD can continue to affect a child well into their teen years and even adulthood. That is why it is so important to have children evaluated and diagnosed as soon as possible. This eliminates unnecessary risks in the future. Reference: NIMH ADHD Throughout Life
