1 Counting Servo Gear Teeth living with the lab Take apart one of your servos to see what it’s like on the inside. Count the number of teeth on each gear, and write down your tooth count for each gear (keep track of the gears using the numbering scheme below). We will use this information to relate the torque and RPM (revolutions per minute) of the output shaft to the torque and RPM of the input shaft from the DC motor.

2 2 living with the lab While you have the servo apart, turn the output shaft with your fingers (you may need to hold your finger over the gears to keep them from slipping off). Observe which gears turn the fastest. Can you find any trends????
