Multiplexer Troubleshooting February 2010
2
Instrument recognition problems Air/water pressure related problems Compatibility problems Dripping instruments Leaking valves, membranes etc. Most common problems related to multiplexer
3
Intrument recognition (He4, He5, He17, He18, Er28.x) 1.Water in the quick connector pins Tighten the quick connector Check the condition of the sealing #00250555 New mold ordered for quick connector and counter part. Pressure test supplied to the parts in the production at the moment to ensure the quality. 2. Check if the problem is following the instrument or the instrument place Service mode n21 Problem with the instrument hose or with the multiplexer PCB 3. Latest multiplexer PCB version J4 prevents unnecessary Er28.x problems
4
1.Check air/water pressure in the service mode n38 and adjust, if needed. 2.Make sure that the regulators are working (= pressure can be adjusted). Yearly maintenance! 3.Are the pressure sensors giving realistic values? If not, change the pressure sensors. 4.More reliable connector (blue) of the pressure sensor flat cable prevents unnecessary pressure related error codes. (Technical bulletin D-151) Air/water pressure related problems (Er3.x, Er35.x, Er36.x., Er37)
5
Compatibility problems 1.Compatibility between main PCB and multiplexer PCB Technical bulletin D-085 Er32.x 2. Instrument compatibility See News or Technical bulletin of the current instrument Er16.x, Er25 3. Nowadays only one multiplexer available Compatible both with Prostyle Compact and Planmeca Compact i

Dripping instruments 1.Is the dripping problem following the instrument hose or the instrument place? 2.When does it drip: instrument not active? instrument is active? when driving the instrument? 3.Is it a continuous leakage or only few drops? Continuous: proportional valve + membrane Few drops: Air in the water channel
7
Leaking valves, membranes etc... 1.Membranes (#02523615) and proportional water valve (#02200009) should be changed in the yearly maintenance. 2.If non-return valve is stuck, return air from one instrument can enter to other instrument (e.g. slowly rotating, not activated, micromotor). 3.When troubleshooting, use this information: Turbine is using drive air Drive air and cooling air are using same line Scaler is not using drive/cooling air Micromotor is using cooling air Cooling air can be adjusted in the service mode n.42 and drive air in n.44
