Thanksgiving: A Personal Narrative As you are reading as a class mark the text by highlighting or underlining places where the writer shifts perspective to adulthood. Complete the Narrative Elements chart and answer questions found on page 135 on your entry/exit task paper. If you work with a partner each of you is responsible for this work.

Narrative Writing: Write a narrative about a time when you made an important decision about yourself. Vary the pacing in your narrative by using a variety of sentence types. Be sure to: use descriptive details to help the reader understand your story. Provide a smooth progression of experiences or events, using transitions to move the story. Vary the pacing through the use of details and sentences

Tallgrass pages 226-254 At the beginning of this reading, Carl delivers the tragic news about Harry. Contrast Mrs. Stroud’s concerns before visiting the Hiranos to her experiences from the visit. Support your response with two specific quotes (textual evidence) from the reading. Cite your evidence correctly. Describe the incident between Rennie’s dad, Beaner, Danny, and Pete. Do you agree with the way Rennie’s dad handled this conflict? Why or why not? Betty Joyce states, “But people lie all the time” (Dallas 250). Do you agree with Betty Joyce? Why or why not? Support your response with two examples from the reading in which a character(s) has lied. Are these lies justified? Why or why not?
