HMS Raleigh The RN’s premier youth training facility in a fantastic coastal location. Sign up for the Naval Acquaint Course which includes life saving dinghy drills, visits to the fire station, damage control simulator and other RN locations. Boatwork takes place at nearby Jupiter Point. ther courses include first aid, cook steward, full bore shooting, cadet leadership, drill, music and diving.

HMS Excellent Situated on Whale Island in Portsmouth, close to the famous dockyard. Used principally for adult training courses such as the Basic Leadership Course, the Junior Officers’ Command Course and the Command Team Course. Some cadet specialisation courses are also held there and of course there is the opportunity to live on board HMS Bristol - a Type 82 Destroyer.

Caledonia Situated not far from Edinburgh in Scotland with views over the Forth It is a great place to learn to sail, drive powerboats and windsurf. There are courses from beginner to advanced. Other courses include shooting, drill, first aid, meteorology and cook steward.

Weymouth A purpose built training centre close to the harbour.
Weymouth is now famous as the venue for the Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Regattas. On the water you can sail, drive powerboats and windsurf. Off the water you can study marine engineering to BTEC Level. The centre has a climbing wall, indoor shooting range and modern leisure facilities.

Ask your Training Officer to check Westminster regularly. Visit for details of undersubscribed courses. Our 12 month rolling programme means we will add new courses throughout the year, keep checking on Westminster if the courses you are looking for are not on the poster.
