2. INTRODUCTION Ancient Egypt was a great period of time. Ancient Egypt created many wonderful creations including, the great pyramids, and the art and so on. Even though there are so many wonderful things about Ancient Egypt the sphinx is one of the most important legacies because of its origin, development, contribution, and how it has impacted the world today.

3. To begin the sphinxes origin includes background and development. For example, the sphinx was created in 2558-2532 BCE. Also it was created in Giza, Egypt. They made it in that time period because it is was the reign of pharaoh Khrafe. And the face is Khrafes on the sphinxes face. They created it in Giza, Egypt, because that was where Old Kingdom is. They needed the sphinx, because it was the protector of the Pharaoh. The sphinx protected the pharaoh of all pain and danger. The sphinx was the protector of the pharaoh because it had the pharaoh’s face on it. Due to the origin and development of the sphinx, it is considered an Egyptian Legacy. ORIGIN AND DEVOLPMEN T

4. The sphinxes legacy is recognized as important due to its contribution. To begin, the sphinxes contribution includes how the legacy was used. The sphinx was used as the sun and sky god. The sphinx is a representative e of the Horus. Horus is the sun and sky god. The sphinx was believed to control when the sun came out. Also the sphinx controls the sky and how it looked. Due to how the sphinx was a used it made this a very important legacy from Egypt. CONTRIBUTION

5. The sphinx is a legacy because of its impact on today. The impact it has made on today is a highly visited tourist attraction. The amount of people that go to Egypt and visit the sphinx is 14.7 million each year. The sphinx has made a great impact because if that was not there then people would only see the great pyramids as the touristy place they visit. Sales to Egypt would decrease by an estimated 1 billion U.S. dollars each year. That is way too much money to be losing each year. If you think about it people are going there mainly because of the sphinx. All in all, the sphinx has made a big impact on the world today. HOW IT IMPACTED THE WORLD TODAY

6. The sphinx is the most important legacies from ancient Egypt because of its origin,development, contribution, and how it impacted the world today. To conclude the sphinx should not be taken for granite because it has done many things for us. It gives us the chance to understand ancient Egypt better. Also it is the place people want to visit, making it such a high visited place. CONCLUSION
